Bring your productions to the next level! A follow-up to Intro to Adobe After Effects, this workshop will teach you how to modify existing templates to create customized animated graphics and special effects which you can incorporate into your edit. Learn how to seamlessly connect After Effects with Premiere Pro and gain experience with a high-demand skillset which is often used on RG Pro Projects.
COURSE SCHEDULE & LESSON PLAN
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27
Session A: 11:00am-12:30pm
Session B: 6:30pm-8:00pm
(3 hours of instruction over two days, with at-home project to be completed between the two sessions)
SESSION A (11:00am-12:30pm on Saturday, February 27)
The following skills and topics will be covered:
- Custom Graphics - Exploring which motion graphics or templates a project may need.
- After Effects Templates - Modifying and incorporating existing templates, including design tips for graphic and color choices.
- Working Across the Adobe Suite - Connecting After Effects and Premiere Pro through Adobe Dynamic Link, and how to create a motion graphics template (.mogrt) for Premiere.
Create your own custom motion graphics template (.mogrt) to practice with.
SESSION B (6:30pm-8:00pm on March 2)
Share your motion graphics template (.mogrt), then receive feedback from classmates and the instructor, who will answer any questions which may have arisen during your process. Additional experimentation with modifying and customizing After Effects templates will continue.
Introductory. Those who are interested in deeper learning are encouraged to take Editing in Adobe Premiere prior to this workshop.
Online, via Zoom. All workshops will be live-captioned.
A computer or tablet which can access Zoom and shared Google Drive files. An Adobe Creative Cloud membership or free trial are also required. Ages 17+. Anyone who wishes to enter the local film and video production industry, high school and college students over 17, those who are interested in freelancing, and creatives looking to turn their hobby projects into professional works. WHAT ARE RG PRO'S PRODUCTION INTENSIVES WORKSHOPS?
An ongoing series of modular film production workshops designed to provide young and budding filmmakers with training opportunities around the fundamentals of film. Eligible participants who complete the entire series have the opportunity to become an apprentice of Northwest Film Forum’s production company, RG Pro.
To adapt to COVID-19, our online education offerings are slightly different from previous iterations of the Production Intensives workshops, with a deeper focus on pre-production, livestreaming, and post-production.
